The dance of duality

One of my favourite subjects: today I want to talk about chaos.  I feel like it more often that not gets a bad reputation, when actually having chaos in your life isn’t such a bad thing & it’s certainly not something that you can avoid.

Life is made up of complete opposites, love vs loss, right vs wrong, positive vs negative.  Meaning that our lives are filled with contradictions of beauty, joy, ease vs sadness, difficulty & chaos.

Unless you live in a cave & have no interaction with the outside world, your influences, interactions & in some way every experience in life, will be largely out of your control.

So if that’s the standard of what we’re dealt, then what can we do about it to maintain our grounding, solidity & ability to move & dance with the chaos, without allowing it to consume us.

I believe that it all comes down to creating an unshakable self that can stand strong, supple & stable, so that when the external factors around you are crazy & chaotic; your inner world is unmoveable.

When you attempt to fight against the chaos & attempt to stay in your comfort zone, that’s when it becomes a fight, rather than a dance.

Yes that dance may become shifted off balance sometimes, but it’s our responsibility to notice that & work to bring it back to an equlibrium. Because quality of life & happiness is dependant on what happens internally, not externally.

Rather than sheltering ourselves from the world, we need to work on creating & developing inner confidence, mindset, resilience, balance, a deep sense of self worth, a regulated nervous system & clear values & morals to stick to.

It’s then that we can dance with the beauty, joy, wins & the chaos, challenges & losses of life.
